Dublin, London, & Wales 2008

While the days to Spring Break were coming more and more near I became very anxious to add a part 2 to the memoric experience I had gained while going to Paris the year before. While we were on the plane about to touch down in Dublin this year I remember it being still dark outside ,but I could definitely see the streets glistening which meant that it was indeed raining.
While in the first hotel in Dublin i obtained 2 newspapers and compared them to some of the U.S papers and I noticed that they too have buisness, sports, weather, & fashion columns. I also watched some television shows , but I noticed that a lot of showings were completely in English.
I thought that a lot of the programming would be in Irish, but I was shocked to find the total opposite.

When I got to Wales the television in the room wasn't working at all , but the Welsh also had their own local papers at their stores too like Ireland.
England reminded me the most of being home ,because everything was right at my hands. I obtained some local newspapers there called The Sunday Times, The Mail, and The Sunday Telegraph. They too were like newspapers that we have at home. There was also a news programming named "BBC." I remember tuning into the BBC and watching them talk about this new device called the NFC Chip, which is a little chip that can be placed on a cell phone or a debit card. Once it is placed on it can hold up to 10 pounds ,and you can use it to swipe quickly at a register at a grocery store or even when trying to get through to catch a train. This device amazed me because the users just swiped it everywhere they went as long as it didn't go over the limit. The purpose of the device is to let the consumer make purchases quickly and efficiently (not going over the 10 pound limit) without the hassle of using loose pounds, credit card, debit, and or etc.

One movie I saw prior to the trip was The Bourne Ultimatum which is said to be featured throughout numerous places in Europe, and with London being one of them. In the movie the main character(Jason Bourne) tells Simon a newspaper reporter to meet him at the Waterloo Train Station. I actually got the chance to go to that same exact station when I was shopping and going to see the London Eye with my friends. Also I happened to be watching America's Next Top Model recently and although it was an old episode they were in London , and they actually got a chance to go to the Piccadilly Circus which is another train station stop where I passed.
